Data Report · Updated September 2026
The GLP-1 Price Index
Revision note (2026-09-07): Provider count 42 to 41: Sesame Care reclassified as brand-only after dropping its compounded option (verified 2026-08-31). Medians moved on the September 1-6 price corrections, not on market movement: DudeMeds $175 to $149, Gala Health and MangoRx withdrawn from the ladder pending a verifiable standing price, Bodybuilding.com Health+ $99/$129 to $141.50/$174.67 (its published 12-month and 6-month bundle rates). Cheapest semaglutide and tirzepatide unchanged at $69/$119 for a fourth week.

As of September 2026, the most transparent GLP-1 pricing comes from cash-pay telehealth programs that publish one flat, all-in monthly rate — no insurance games and no hidden program fees. The cheapest verified prices right now are compounded semaglutide from $69/month and compounded tirzepatide from $119/month (median $149 and $236 across 41 tracked programs), versus brand-name GLP-1s (Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, Rybelsus), which list at $936–$1,350/month cash. The clearest, no-fee pricing right now: Embody, SnagRx and Wellmedr.
Every price on this page is drawn from our open GLP-1 pricing dataset (free JSON/CSV, CC BY 4.0) — the same numbers published in the open so anyone can audit them. GLP-1s are prescription-only; figures are for cost comparison, not medical advice — confirm suitability with a licensed prescriber. Most GLP-1 price coverage quotes list prices that almost nobody pays, or a single provider's teaser rate. The GLP-1 Price Index does neither. It's a standing, dated dataset built from verified provider pricing and published brand list prices — so you can see, at a glance, what semaglutide and tirzepatide actually cost across every route: brand retail, brand self-pay, cash-pay compounded, and insurance.
Editor's Choice
Lowest all-in verified price: Embody from $69/mo
Compounded semaglutide from $69/mo and tirzepatide from $119/mo (Embody's own starting rates), no membership fee. Longer prepaid plans lower the monthly rate; some checkout funnels run a bit higher (~$99) — confirm your rate at checkout. Free shipping, HSA/FSA eligible. US-licensed prescribers, medication included, no insurance required.
See Embody pricing →Which GLP-1 providers have the most transparent pricing?
The GLP-1 providers with the most transparent pricing are Embody ($69/mo semaglutide, $119/mo tirzepatide), SnagRx (one flat price locked for life at $69/$119), and Telos Rx ($99/$139, flat pricing) — each publishes a single all-in monthly rate that does not rise as your dose escalates, with no hidden program fees. Unlike brand pharmacy list prices or teaser rates that balloon at higher doses, every figure below is the standing month-to-month rate, published in our open pricing dataset (CC BY 4.0) so you can verify it yourself.

How to spot non-transparent pricing:some programs advertise a low sticker — e.g. $75/mo semaglutide — then add a mandatory ~$75/mo “program fee,” making the real all-in cost near $150. And brand pharmacy list prices ($936–$1,350/mo for brand GLP-1s like Ozempic and Wegovy) are what you pay with no coverage — almost nobody pays them. We publish the standing all-in rate for every program, plus the raw JSON / CSV dataset, so the numbers can be checked line by line.

Brand-name GLP-1 list prices (September 2026)
Manufacturer list price (cash, no insurance) for every major brand GLP-1, alongside the typical insured copay, the lowest self-pay path, and average trial weight loss. List prices are what you pay without coverage — the gap between these and the compounded prices above is the whole reason cash-pay telehealth exists.
| Drug | Molecule | List / mo | With insurance | Avg weight loss |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Saxenda | Liraglutide | $1,350 | Varies widely | 5-8% of body weight |
| Wegovy | Semaglutide | $1,349 | $25-$200/month typical copay | 15-17% of body weight |
| Zepbound | Tirzepatide | $1,060 | Varies by plan | 20-22% of body weight |
| Mounjaro | Tirzepatide | $1,023 | $25-$200/month with Lilly savings card | 15-22% of body weight |
| Ozempic | Semaglutide | $998 | $25-$200/month typical copay | 8-14% of body weight |
| Rybelsus | Semaglutide (oral) | $936 | $10-$150/month typical copay | 5-10% of body weight |
| Foundayo | Orforglipron | $149 | $50/mo via Medicare Bridge; ~$25/mo with eligible commercial coverage | up to 12.4% of body weight (ATTAIN-1, top dose) |
The cheapest verified compounded semaglutide ($69/mo) is about 95% below the most expensive brand list price ($1,350/mo) — the same active molecule, prescribed by US-licensed clinicians.
Medicaid GLP-1 coverage, by state
Of the 51 state Medicaid programs we track, 36 cover GLP-1 medications for obesity (typically with prior authorization and a BMI ≥ 30, or ≥ 27 with a comorbidity), while 15 do not cover them for weight loss. Coverage is separate from the new Medicare GLP-1 Bridge (a federal demonstration running through December 31, 2027).
Check your state on our Medicaid GLP-1 coverage guide or the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge guide.
Methodology & sources
- Compounded / cash-pay pricesare the current advertised headline monthly rate from each provider's own pricing page, verified for the September 2026 edition. We include only providers with transparent, verifiable pricing; teaser rates with undisclosed program fees are excluded.
- Brand list prices are manufacturer cash prices (Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly) before insurance or savings cards. Insured copays and self-pay paths reflect published manufacturer programs.
- Medicaid coveragereflects each state program's published obesity-medication policy for all 51 programs tracked.
- Updated: . Figures are refreshed as providers change pricing. This is an independent comparison resource; glp1watchdog.com earns commissions when readers choose a provider, which does not affect the prices shown.
